Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P - not getting continuous video

Went to check something a couple a nights ago and discovered that I'm not getting continuous video.

It seemed to be recording about 15 seconds then skipping 20-30 seconds at a time. Then go back to recording.

At a loss as to what is going on. Not good if I wanted to export a section of video.

I did not check if this was happening with all cameras just one that should have caught some guy doing donuts on the freshly snow covered road.
 
If you want continuous recording clear motion detection in cameras and NVR.
That is not correct - if you want to see motion event marking on a continuous playback timeline you do need motion detection enabled as well as continuous.

The configuration area where the the settings need to be checked in the NVR is the 'storage action' that is required to occur when the motion event has been triggered by the camera.

I did a reboot of the NVR and so far it seems to corrected the continuous recording.

Still have no idea why Hikvision NVR has a mind of its own. Over the past 4 months I have had different issues where a reboot seems to fix the problem.
