Folks,
Newbie here, trying to connect these Lorex Cams to the Hikvision DVR.
The DVR just won't activate the Cams.
It will detect them using port 35000, but then tells me "weak password" or "risk password" and will just not let me add these ams.
The Protocol is another one, which one to use?
Something I missed?

But how have you tried? Give the members something to go on.

Is this 'activate' in the same way as Hikvision? I don't follow.

If there is no native brand support, then try ONVIF (you need to know the ONVIF port) then try RTSP (you need to know the RTSP URL).
Check out the needed detail with the very good Windows open-source tool ONVIF Device Manager from sourceforge.net
ONVIF port in the URL at the bottom of the Identification page
RTSP URL at the bottom of the Live Video page.

You will need to set them up manually as ONVIF cameras. A Hikvision NVR will only activate and auto-detect Hikvision cameras (cameras running Hikvision firmware, that is).

Thanks all for the "warm" welcome.
I did call Hikvision here in the US and they tell me they won't support this Unit because it is from China.
So it is going back to Amazon.
got me a GW DVR instead.
