Just messing around with my VIVOTEK IP8332 hooking it up to the HIKVISION NVR and it seems the nvr has to use something in the camera to overlay text which kind of sucks because all of my old analog dvrs used to be able to add test on anything.
It also wont do motion detection.
Something else it wont do is power third party cameras, well it will power them they will get an ip address but you cant access them
