In June 2023 I added 3 new DS-2DE4A425IWG-E cameras onto my existing NVR, these added in without any issues at all.

I have just in the last month or so tried to add another 2 X DS-2DE4A425IWG-E cameras and I cannot get the NVR to pick them up at all, is it possible the NVR is no out of date? The new cameras are on a different (newer) firmware (V5.8.0) and the NVR is running V3.4.2 which I understand can no longer be upgraded?

Is it time to replace the NVR, or is there something else I can try?

@alastairstevenson , is this model the OP mentioned able to decode MORE than three 4MP cameras?
Specs say it can handle 6 cams @ 1080p so does it follow it can only handle half of that at twice the resolution/MP ?

It might be a protocol incompatibility - that's a very old NVR with very old firmware, compared with the firmware implementation of those new-model cameras.
There were quite a few incompatibilities with Ezviz cameras and that NVR model if I remember correctly.

Provided it's not a Chinese NVR (and the NI suggests it isn't), it may be worth trying some progressive firmware updates from here :
