If anyone is experienced and up to date with Hikvision, I could use some help please. They have SO MANY NVRs to choose from. Could anyone like list their top 5 or 6 NVRs from Hikvision that support 16 channels? Am I correct to assume, if they don't have a USB 3.0 port on the back, they are older style boxes (and perhaps less powerful hardware)? Do any of the 16CH boxes do beyond 160MBps on both sides? With all the lettering/number schemes they use in their model names, you don't know if you are getting something recent or newer. I tried to find a RELEASE DATE page of all their NVRs, to no avail.

Some of the NVRs seem to have strange limitations, like only 2 channels can do line crossing.....surely something out there more powerful

I recently got a DS-7616NXI-K2/16P and was disappointed with the speed of the unit. It's also slow to IP login locally. It has pausing moments on occasion. The APP loads the cameras slow with this percentage thing.

I installed a NVR516P16-K2 from Linovision (just a rebadged HikVision NVR of some sort). I did this install because the previous installer left 9 months ago, so they called me to install it. This box is much faster than the one I listed above, but it could still be faster in my opinion.

I thought about these 2 NVRs, but...

I am use to Dahua and will stick with them, but I got into a huge quantity of generic Hikvision cameras that I need to dispense of. I will use these systems for people who only desire a simple installation or on a budget.

I sure could appreciate some help.

Generally, the 'smart events' would be generated in the cameras, with the events being notified to the NVR to do what it's configured to do with them such as start recording.
Using the NVR to create 'smart events' is for when dumb cameras (such as motion detection only) are connected.

That's not generally my experience.
Even the old models have always seemed pretty responsive to me in the user interface.
What aspect of the interface have you found to be slow?

Particularly when I locally do a IP login to the NVR unit. Also, if I then login to a camera from the UNIT, (using virtual host), so I can access cameras directly with an IP that are plugged into the NVR unit.

Sorry for the double post, the forum or my internet acted up
