I bought a few hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I-4MM cams. I noticed at night one of them didn't look as bright as normal. I went and looked at them up close and all 5 of my cameras have different LEDs that are not lighting up. Is it normal for some of the LEDs to not light up or are they burning out?

Thank you

They are defective...all should be lit...

A local company. 2mcctv. They came out and did the full install. Looks like they have turrets that are the same specs and price as the bullet cams I bought.

well then you paid good money, so they should make it right...

I agree. Are they expensive? I got 5 ip cams and an 8 channel nvr with a 3 tb hard drive all wires run and fully installed for 1400

The cameras themselves are about 100-125 depending on where they purchased..there are much better options than those cameras...the NVR without knowing the model costs 150-200...hard drive another 100...most of the cost is the running of the wires...if they did a proper job and ran the wires in wall, nice and neat you got a good deal.

What camera options are better? I'd rather get it done right this time.
well turrets design has better ir and is significantly less susceptible to spider web interference....
As far as models see the hikvision low light camera thread...the low light cameras are significantly better at night...Then there are options like varifocal that let you get the exact field of view so you dont waste pixels...
if you are not happy with the NVR there are lots of pc based software options that blow NVR's out of the water..

I will check out the threads. The nvr seems to work good. I just want my cameras to work properly
