Hikvision/LTS/Dahua VS Swan/Lorex

I am trying to get a concise (subjective of course) thoughts you folks have on the pros and cons of going with Hikvision/LTS/Dahua systems VS something available at big box store (costco)

For a home diy application

LTS is more customizable typically, price might be a bit more but you have a wider variety and style of cameras to choose from vs big box stores. Prices may be better at big box stores though.

Hikvision and Dahua are the manufacturers of the hardware. LTS, Swann and Lorex are resellers of the hardware. The resellers provide the modified software, support and warranty.

I think LTS is going to be more flexible. It seems like Lorex and Swann don't allow ONVIF, so you are stuck with their brand.
