Hikvision motion detection

Hello guys,
i'm approaching the videosurveillance and i'm trying to understand what i can do with the cameras compared to a standalone alarm system. of course hikvision is one of the brand i'm investigating
those cameras will be installed on a private house, where sometimes we live for some months and in other months we are away going maybe only during the weekend.
having the needs to know what append during our absence and also to know if someting occur during the night when living there, i tought to the cameras using the motion detection features.
i've seen there is scheduler i can configure to set when the motion detection have to be enables but i'm now sure it can be used to satisfy all the configuration i need to have
i can set the days and the hours the motion detection have to be enabled, and this will work fine for all the time we don't live in the house, or when we live in the house and only in the night the detection have to be enabled
but how i can managed the condition where i'm going to the house during the weekend?
if i'm not wrong the motion setup is done at camera level. so if in a month where i don't live there and i enabled the motion detection, i go for a weekend there, i need to disable the motion detetion for each single camera and there is no way with one click to disable the detection for all the cameras, right?

do you know how i could manage this scenario if possibile?
basically this would be like what you do with a standalone alarm system where with a remote commander you disable all the sensors if you are in, and you enable again when you are away
is there any whay to do this with the cameras?

thanks

Well you are asking about stand alone cameras where then you say an Alarm system you can turn off all sensors. Well the same could be said for cameras as well if you had your cameras connected to a Control Unit. In the case of IP cameras that would be an NVR.. So you have to look at the Alarm as each sensor being a camera and your Remote Commander would be the NVR.. So add in a NVR and use the NVR as your remote commander for your cameras...

thanks @Revo2Maxx for the reply
yes i'm also considering the NVR to manage and record all the camera.
but looking at the motion detection setup ofr Hikvision camera, on the NVR i've seen all the camera to be setup and not a global settings on the NVR to enable/disable the motion detection
am i wrong? can you suggest where i can fing this global settings on the NVR?

thanks

Well to be honest you don't want to turn off the Motion detection of your cameras.. I mean if you have cameras setup in Bedrooms or something like that I understand don't want to capture motion while there but normally not recording bedrooms so that shouldn't matter..

What I do like when I go to my cabin and I don't want to be alerted every time I cross a zone is I turn off the notices in my app. This way I don't get the alerts but if something happens if i am there that needs to be recorded it is still recorded and I have that footage. If you turn off the Motion then it would not capture anything..

Plus in your NVR might have a Red bell or something in the top right corner of the screen. This disables alerts that you have setup at the NVR level.. Just need to remember to enable it again before you leave.. That is why I pick the Notices on my phone so If I forgot to enable after I left and home or even half way home I don't have to go back and enable the alarm on the recorder so I can get alerts again.. In the app I just click to have them send again and I can even turn off when the lawn people are there so I don't get 100 events for something I know what is going on..

ohhh ok, i was not thinking to this option
this is a great hint. so don't work on the motion settings, while work on the notification settings. so in this way the motion settings will be always on regardless i'm in or not, but moreover i can enable and disable the notification on the NVR so that i'm notified only when i'm not in

of course, the notification settings, even if managed trough the app on the smartphone, will reflect on the NVR settings, so if i've more smartphones used to control the NVR settings, they are all aligned to receive or not the notification depending on what configured on the NVR

finally, don't know if open a nre thread on that, but i'm planning to connect to the NVR using a VPN, also from the smartphone.
do you know if there is any limation about the notification on the app if i will use the VPN and not the cloud?

thanks
