hi,
i have a hikvision dvr, with added 12 analog cam and 2 ip cam.
but when i tried to add 3rd ip cam. it say "no more camera is allowed".
i can remove 2nd ip cam, and add 3rd one , its possible.
but when i add all the 3 ipcam, the error comes out again.
anyone know how to fix this?

Yes, this model supports max 2 IP cameras.
Nevertheless, using the latest firmware V3.4.89 build 180906(For HGHI-F) it's possible to disable analog channel, and replace it with IP channel (for example 15 analog + 3 IP cameras).

No, firmware upgrade normally keeps the settings. Hard to say what's the safest way - either browser (IE) or iVMS4200. Most often I use browser.
