Hikvision NVR - Audio Recording

I have a 16 channel NVR with 16 4MP turret cameras. None of the turrets have audio inputs. Can I use the Audio In at the back of the NVR to record audio and assign it to a channel number? If not, do I need to replace a camera with one that supports audio to record audio?

If you wanted the nvr to pick up audio let’s say in a central point,you could hook up a powerd mic and run the audio cables back to the nvr but all Chanel’s will have that mic.
Your other suggestion if the camera had a built in mic or audio in ( powerd mic) then you would configure that camera to record audio on that channel
