A 16 channels NVR with 8 POE ports for only 282.10 sound like a good deal?

I been in contact with the seller and she said it all in English and have firmware 3.3.2, I asked her a couple more questions but awaiting for her to response back before deciding to buy it or not.

Bill

The seller responded to a couple more of questions I had. One is about the email snapshot, can anyone tell me that she saying there a way to make it work with the 3.3.2?

1. Will it support International and English Hikvision cameras?
..................>>>>>>>>>Yes, of course. we have test them. As long as it is hikvision ipcs, it is no problem. Whether it is English or multilanguage one.
2. Does it have Virtual Host feature or it been removed in 3.3.2 firmware?
..................>>>>>>>>>>Yes, if you want a virtual host feature, Version 3.0.10 is avaliable. of course we can supply this version NVR.
3. Do you know if the email motion detect picture been fixed? I read that 3.3.2 email does not attach a snapshot when motion is detected.
....................>>>>>>>>>Yes. For the pictures attched, you need set up ipcs on the IE Browser. Because it is the ipcs' function, not the NVRs. The NVRs can send the email to you when motion detect.
4. And is there an iPhone app that connects with this NVR?
..................>>>>>>>>>>Yes, IVMS4500. You can download it in the app store. In the computer, this software called IVMS4200.

I am leaning toward to this NVR ..... Any feedback??

Thank you
Bill

I've had a 7816N-E2/8P since last October, and it's been good, no hangups or reboots. It's still running the 3.0.8 firmware that came with it.
Initially I connected my varied mix of 720p cameras, then progressively changed them all out for Hikvision 3MP cameras.
It's being used for continuous recording, and it's also supplying all its camera streams to a 7816N-E2 which does motion detection recording only, and some of the camera streams to QNAP Surveillance Station which was my original NVR solution, now not used much. The 7816N-E2 has been good too. I experiment on it from time to time, so it gets temporarily bricked quite often. It's currently running the 3.3.4 firmware.
I don't use any email alerts - I'd get swamped.

I been in contact with the seller and she assure me that it all English and it will work on any Hikvision camera in any language so I went ahead and order one. She said their 2015 models come with the 3.3.4 firmware but they could give me one with older firmware. I told her to send me the newer model with the 3.3.4 firmware and hopefully I will be happy with it.

As for motion camera, since I only have one camera set for motion detection which is located inside my porch so I will probably just leave as it and let the camera continue to email me whenever there is a motion detected not the NVR.

Thank you for your feedback
Bill

I have the DS-7608NI-E2/8P and it's a great unit with HIKVision cameras DS-2CD2132F-IWS 2.8mm Great unit with the latest firmware on all. English USA upgrade-able. One thing im missing is the green boxes when motion is detected on the NVR. I see the green boxes when directly connected to the cameras and when im connected to the NVR via web interface.

Do you have these green boxes working on your setup when motion is detected?

Hey alastair. Couple of questions mate.

1. What F/W version delivered Virtual Host?
2. Did the 3.0.8 have Virtual Host?

Trying to figure out whether I get it in 3.3.2 and greater, the seller couldnt answer it when I asked.

3. Does the noise of the POE + fan bother you? Is it a 747 or more like a fridge hum?

cheers

you may need to go and buy from another seller. there are couple of them you can trust.

Bill, be interested to hear of the outcome... When I just checked that selller.... they didnt seem to have any feedback for that actual product??

They had wider feedback from other purchases just could see any for that one (7816N-e2-8p)

Be keen to hear of the firmware, if english, and if virtual host.

Buying from alibaba is a minefield.

Sorry, not sure as not much updated firmware when I got the 7816N-E2/8P so I left the 7816N-E2/8P with the original 3.0.8 as it was working well, in production, and I didn't want to mess with it.
So I did this: http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread...l-host-or-extra-wiring?highlight=extra+wiring
2. Did the 3.0.8 have Virtual Host?
No, it didn't.
3. Does the noise of the POE + fan bother you? Is it a 747 or more like a fridge hum?
Yes, it would be noisy if it was in a living area, but I installed the NVR on the top of some wall units in a utility room. No problem with noise, and not very obvious and out of sight.

I received an email tonight from the seller saying that they could not put 3.3.4 firmware on this model because it wouldn't accept it so the newest they could put on was 3.3.2. I told the seller just to cancel the order and refund the money back. The seller refunded the full amount within 20 minutes after I asked them to refund.

So it looks like either this model cannot take 3.3.4 firmware or I need to find a different seller but this seller was kind enough to give me my refund back quickly without any dispute and I got my credit back.
