Hikvision NVR Email wont send

My Hikvision NVR DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR stopped sending email notifications as of 1/1/2024.
No settings on the NVR, router or my mailserver changed. Prior to that it was working flawlessly for like 3 years.
The email works fine when i manually test it from outlook, but every testing within the NVR now says failed.

Was something changed on the Hikvision side of things? Anyone have any ideas? ive check the dns which is correct. Hikvision app has internet access without any issue and i can access the app remotlely without being on the same network. Is this a firmware issue? (mine is up to date)

does it work if you use port 587 instead of 465?
Unfortunately no it doesn't.
I tried changing the mail server to google with app code but didn't work either.
I have no idea as emails where working for like 3 years and the last time it sent was 30/12/23, it just stopped working and hasn't since :(

FWIW, I Googled that smtp server name and found 3 places where they say to use port 2525 for outgoing email. :idk:
