Hi!

I can't seem to connect my IpCameras to my NVR. Have been scouring the internet but haven't found a solution yet.

Hoping someone out there can help?

The Hardware
- NVR (Hikvision DS-7204HGHI-SH)
- 3 IPCameras(Hikvision 4MP DS-2CD2142FWD-I)

The Setup
- (3x) IP Cameras → Etheret Cable + POE Power injector → Router → Modem
- NVR → Ethernet Cable → Router
- Firmware for NVR + IP Camera updated. IP Cameras have been re-set to factory default settings
- All 3 IP Cameras have been activated by me
- All 3 IP Cameras are online, and I can access the video feeds when I log into their IP addresses via my web browser on my laptop when I'm at home on home wifi

The Problem: Can’t connect IPCameras to NVR

1. When I try to setup the IP Cameras on the NVR, I can see all 3 cameras when I click "quick add" (Configuration --> Camera Management)
2. After clicking "quick add", it tries to connect with status "Offline (Connecting...) but after 5 mins status changes to "Offline"
3. I've tried "Modifying" the camera and manually typing in the IPCamera password, but no change

Interesting, the DS-7204HGHI-SH is a network DVR 'TriBrid'. I believe the cameras must have the same user/password as the DVR if they are activated. If that is the case, try add them using the Custom Adding option instead of the Quick Add. You could also try a factory reset and NOT activate them. The DVR should still detect them in the camera management interface. Click the Add button (green plus) next to the camera and the DVR should take care of the rest.

This is not the cause of your problem just A side note .... do not run the camera traffic through the router.

DO the camera have static IP address assigned in the router and in the camera.

I would disconnect two of the cameras and work on one at a time.

FYI, your cameras are listed as compatible with DVR v3.1.13, Build 160721 and camera v5.3.3_150630 firmware (and up).

This is long overdue, but a sincere thank you for investing the time to help. Hope you're safe & healthy.

:( I should have RTFM -- instead, I trusted the description on the online store website and invoice which said it could handle 4 channels. Ugh. Now I need to figure out if it's worth the hassle to go through online store website customer service to get some compensation.

Yes, it can handle up to 4 analogue cameras, they usually state it in this way as a selling point. there seems to be an over stock of analogue on the market and distributors/sellers mislead consumers with price as well. Not sure why anyone would still buy analogue.
