Hello Guys,

I am facing a small challenge. A client has Vivotek FD8167 cameras and wants to purchase the hikvision ds-9664 nvr.

Earlier today we did a small test using a hikvision 4 port nvr on a vivotek camera but it refused to connect. In the IP configuration in the menu switched to manual and input the IP and username and password of the camera which should make it work but it refused to connect on various attempts and trials. I will still do some test runs tomorrow again.

Was wondering if anyone has used vivotek on a hikvision.

Let me know please......

The product spec suggest that it supports ONVIF.
Did you try the ONVIF protocol as a connection method?
You may have to determine the 'ONVIF port', if it's other than 80.
If you query the camera with ONVIF Device Manager, you can see the 'ONVIF port' in the URL at the bottom of the Identification page.

Also worth checking would be to determine if the camera generates ONVIF events for motion detection, as seen on the Events page, and also implied on the Analytics and Rules pages.

Thanks for the reply.

I suspect that the vivotek FD8167 camera is not compatible. We will do some tests today again using different options.

If it truly is ONVIF compliant, then it should work OK.
I have never seen a problem connecting quite a few different makes of ONVIF compliant cameras to Hikvision NVRs.

I have worked with many 3rd party cameras but this is the first time I came across this issue.

Doesn't make sense.

Did the camera work OK in ONVIF Device Manager, and what was the 'ONVIF port'?
That's not always 80, and needs to be correct to conect as ONVIF.

Port management is 80.

Tried many ways. Am thinking will do a custom adding.
