Hikvision NVR7208-12/P8 Firmware Required

Hi everyone,

I attempted a firmware update on my NVR7208-I2/P8 (Serial: 0820160323CCRRxxxxxxxxxWCWU), which was originally running V3.4.2.

The only firmware I could find was for the Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P — the devices look identical physically. Following the instructions, I upgraded to V3.4.92, performed a factory reset, and then updated further to V4.61 from the Hikvision US website.

Since then, the device has become unstable and restarts every few minutes.

Does anyone have a link to a stable firmware version that works with this model?

I've seen some instability with firmware NVR_K51_BL_ML_STD_V4.61.010_220527 on a DS-7608NI-I2/8P and I think there has also been mention of that a couple of years ago on here. The NVR tended to freeze or reboot when configuration changes were made.

Via the serial console, I downgraded the firmware to as far as it would accept - V4.51.025 build 210927and it was fully stable after that.
The mainboard version was 80242_P Rev 3.0
My speculation was there was an issue linked to the slightly different chips on that board.

However - do note that your NVR is not quite the same model - the problem and fix may not be the same.
