Hi Guys,

I am running HikVision PC NVR and would like to set up recording 24/7, but have a tag of some description when there is motion. So i can review specific incidents and not sit through hours of footage. Can this be done?

Also, when trying to set up my HD from my computer, i try and pre-allocate and it fails. I cannot set up recording.

Configuration > Disk Managment > tick the hard drive, preallocate

HDD Formatting : Failed.


any ideas?

Are you using the PC NVR program or the Server program from iVMS-4200? I'm using the Server program from iVMS-4200.

I dedicated a drive to the server and clean formatted it exFat. You could probably give it just a partition, but I'm not sure. I can't figure out how reroute the storage to another drive outside of uninstalling and reinstalling the iVMS-4200 server.
