I downloaded the hikvision sdk and started experimenting with it before I can use it. I am able to login to my nvr DS7608, but not able to get the stream. I always get an error "NET_DVR_RealPlay_V40 failed". I am experimenting with streams 2 and 3.
The RTSP link below works with vlc player, but I don't know what numbers I should use for the two fields "Preview/capture channel" and "stream ID". I tried a combination of different things like "2 and 201", "201 and 201", etc, but I can't figure out where I am going wrong.
rtsp:/admin: password@192.168.1.152:554/Streaming/Channels/201/
<no spaces above. I had to put a space to get rid of the smiley face>
The visual studio file I am experimenting with is called "1-Preview-PreviewDemo"
