Hikvision settings changes rejected - SOLVED - DS-2CD2347G1-LU

I started having issues with a Hikvision DS-2CD2347G1-LU 4 MP ColorVu Fixed Turret Outdoor Network Camera. Could log in, but camera wouldn't accept change from h.265 to h.264 or any other adjustments. Camera would time out and/or report network irregularities. Tried different cable, different poe switch, external power, software restore, reset button, all failed to allow camera to accept settings changes. Took out the memory card and reset it one more time, that finally fixed it. Saved from the sledgehammer!

TLDR - If your camera loses its mind try removing the microsd (TF) flash memory card.
