Hi there,

New on this forum as a writer, but reader for years.
:)

I have quite some experience with Hikvision camera's and NVR's. I'm aware of the browser issues these devices have.
Normally I use Internet Explorer to do my live view and playback for camera's and just use chrome for some easy configurations.
Today I had reinstalled my computer and opened Chrome to do some configuration on one of my camera's. To my surprise the live view worked! I was very happy. BUT, the playback button and picture button weren't there. So I installed the plugin, reopened Chrome, the buttons were there! BUT the live view stopped working.
:(

When I killed the localcomponents proces via the task manager in Windows, reopened Chrome, the live view works again.

SO what is the deal with this? Have you guys also noticed live view works without the plugin?

My work around right now is to default disable the plugin at startup of my computer. Live view works, configuration works and when I need playback I can use Internet Explorer. I'm a bit happier now, but not 100% yet.

Given Microsoft has indicated they intend to remove IE from Windows distributions at some point in the future, I would hope Hikvision would get their thumb out of their ass and make their software work 100% unhindered in modern browsers.
