I have a Hilook NVR-208MH-C/8P NVR which I have purchased with a view that it meets all of my needs for now and the future with respect to number of channels and hard drive capacity.

My problem is that I currently only need one hard drive with my existing setup, but with only one installed, it does not detect the hard drive.

Is there any way to rectify this issue?

I cannot see any options to change and do not understand why it would not function correctly with just one hard drive.

Many thanks.

Seems strange unless the default is for some form of RAID to be enabled which would require s2 drives.

Have you tried the single drive in both drive connnectors/bay?

I have tried every permutation, but to no avail.

I have searched in the settings on the device, but am unable to find anything in the menus relating to hard drive configuration

It should work OK with a single drive.

Have you tested with another drive?
Have you tested with another SATA cable?
Do you hear the drive spin up when the NVR is powered on?
