Looking for advise here. I was able to follow this video on how to make Alexa work as a media player in Home Assistant. I also created a card to send text to speech to Alexa. I am having trouble getting it to trigger or execute however. What I'd like to do is to have an http command sent to Home Assistant from my camera software, Blue Iris, to trigger an event in Home Assistant when motion is detected by Blue Iris. Can you advise on the best way to set up Home Assistant to accept this? I've been reading and have tried using api call, long-lived access tokens call all without any success.

You might also consider Googling "blue iris home assistant"; the first 7 results are from the HA community on how to incorporate Blue Iris.

Thanks @TonyR

Unfortunately I’ve been through most if not all of the articles. I think that I figured out what I need to do. I believe that I need to setup a webhook in home assistant, which will allow blue iris to trigger an event to have Alexa announce when a person is spotted at my front door via http

Just wanted to provide an update. I was able to get BI to alert Hone Assistant using MQTT. What I was missing was the MQTT configuration in BI....face palm

Thanks again @TonyR for suggesting the BI and Home Assistant integration guides. One of the guides showed how to configure MQTT in BI.
