Benjamin nevers
Benjamin Nevers is a 24-year-old resident of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, who was involved in a home invasion that turned into a shootout on January 26, 2025. Nevers and his girlfriend were asleep in their apartment when two suspects broke in through a kitchen window. One of the suspects held Nevers' roommate at gunpoint in the living room, while Nevers, still half-asleep, grabbed his gun and prepared for the intruders to enter his bedroom.

The confrontation was caught on security footage, showing Nevers, in boxers and a T-shirt, holding a pistol and firing at the intruder identified as Phillip Price. Nevers was shot first but managed to fire back, hitting the suspect in the leg. The footage also captured the suspect stumbling and falling on the front stoop of the house after being shot.

As a result of the incident, Nevers suffered a shattered foot and underwent surgery to repair it. His girlfriend was also shot in the back and was hospitalized with more serious injuries, as the bullet had lodged in her chest. The suspect was arrested and charged with attempted murder and other serious crimes, totaling 21 charges. His accomplice fled the scene and was still being sought by the police at the time of the incident.

Nevers is now on crutches and continues to recover from his injuries.

Saw that here on another thread a few days ago.

The kid is lucky the gun didnt jam on him the way he has a hold of the slide

Plus nice loud (wake me up) alarms from your perimeter sensors. I dont trust camera alerts on my phone to wake me up. Those for me are secondary to the Perimeter sensors, though not as sexy

True, and I get both, but I trust my perimeter alarms to work 100% of the time and not rely solely on AI to decide if its a burglar or a shadow, and its volume control can make sure I'm awake!

True!

Also, dude said in story at bottom "..... I’m kind of glad the guy who shot me is still alive too. I don’t want to kill nobody."

WTF? What's wrong with people? The guy was perfectly OK with killing you and your girlfriend.

I understand where he is coming from. Until you are in that situation, you may not understand his point of view. It is not easy or normal to take another human life. However, if being put in that situation one should do whatever it takes to stop that situation.

Realize that once you take another's life, you will have to live with that fact for the rest of your life. It is easy to say, from our computer chair, that 'he was trying to kill me', and you probably will be saying that for quite some time trying to convince yourself that you did the right thing, or that you had no choice, etc. And it will not just be your life that will change. It will also be that of your loved ones. They will have to live with the fact that you took a life, no matter how justified it was. Also your friends and even people at work. They all will see you in a very different way, and it might not be in a way that you want.

Just hope that none of us are ever put in that situation.
