How to change the lens?

Hello,

I've ordered a replacement lens for my Hikvision camera but I'm not sure how to process. Can I somehow unscrew the M12 lens from the front or do I need to get to the back of the whole optical unit? The grooved ring around the lens seems to be only for adjusting the position and cannot be removed to access the lens?

Don't know that camera it self, I have done many repairs to these types of cameras and normally to access the lens would require taking out the camera board.. Normally this would be unclip the camera wires, remove 2 screws that hold the housing to the base, Then unclip the ring from around the camera. All the ones I have worked on was different format with IR and different type of cover.. I have done some with another type with what kind of looks like your camera. This required again 2 screws to be removed and the holder removed from the base, Then the camera slide out, Then removing 2 halves that hold the camera board into the housing. Then different cameras some had a screw set 2 or 3 screws that would hold the lens to the ICR. Others would be screw in type lens that would be with some type of glue to keep the lens from moving once focus was set..

What is the model of the camera. Maybe I have one or one like it and I could give some better idea of how to remove the lens for a swap?

Also wondering is there a problem with the current lens or you doing a different lens MM swap? Also the new lens same type as your current lens that matches the F/stop And the replacement lens same MP and IR format?
