Hi,

Please help!
I have a Dahua NVR with the model number: DHI-NVR4216-16P-4KS3 and I have a Dahua camera that is having trouble connecting to the NVR even though it's suppose to be plug in a play, I have tried several things and I've been trying to add it manually by ONVIF but I have no idea what the IP address of the camera is to be able to add it, and i read that if i download the dahua config tool - it would help however the IPC camera isn't popping up on the config tool either!

Any help would be appreciated, new at this camera stuff!
Thank you.

Is it a brand new camera?
check cable and test

fastest way is to manually reset the camera itself. Open little door, hold down tiny black reset button for 30 seconds, wait for cabers to be recognized by NVR ( while connected)

Reset the camera to default first then make sure your computer is set to the right subnet (factory IP for Dahua is 192.168.1.108 so your computer needs to be 192.168.1.x). If all is good there then try the default address for the camera and see if it works. If not then download Advanced IP Scanner and run it, you should see the camera's address at that point if it's not the default.

Hi thank you, for your reply!
this is the camera we have it's quite an old model we tried opening it up but we couldn't find a factory reset button it's S/N is: 2F0503BPAA00063

There is no external rest button but there is a place inside the camera to reset by shorting 2 places on a PC board:

Hi!
thank you so much for the for the tutorial it was very helpful, and I was able to bridge the gap but for some reason it is still not showing up, I tried downloading advanced IP scanner and it doesn't show up there either and. Here is a picture of what it looks like on my NVR

It's on a different network range to your other camera. Maybe that's the issue. If there's an ability to change the IP address from the NVR, change it to one within the same range. Give it a 10.1.1.X address to match your other camera all but for the last digit.

Hi there, do you do remote services for configuring cameras? would be willing to pay, because i'm knew to all this and i have several cameras to connect. Please let me know! Thank you :)

The camera is on a different subnet, change your computer to also be on the 192.168.15.x subnet and you should be able to access it and set the static IP on the camera so it works. If you are on windows then go to Network & Internet, then Ethernet, then edit IP assignment and select manual then select IPV4 and set the IP address to 192.168.15.40 and the subnet to 255.255.255.0 (leave the rest blank and save it). Now run the IP scanner and see if you can see the camera. If you do then open a browser and try to navigate to 192.168.15.5 and you should be able to access the camera now. Go into the camera and set the static IP to 10.1.1.55set the subnet to 255.255.255.0 and the gateway should be the IP address of your NVR.

I don't sorry. Others are more expert than me and I don't have an NVR either. I use BI. This means I can't guarantee this is the issue. It depends on whether or not the cameras need to be on the same network or not. ATM one camera is on a 192.168....address and the other on a 10.1.1...address. So they not only not on the same subnet but not even on the same network range. I'd try changing one or the other to get them on the same network range and subnet. You may be able to do that within the NVR. I noticed there's an edit pen next to each camera in the NVR's interface. See what your options are. I did lose a camera in BI and after a reset it was back but not on the same subnet and I had a whole host of issues as well. It wasn't the only issue with that cam which meant it eventually got swapped out, but the network issue was fixed by enabling the PC to see the default network address as well as the different subnet I had my other camera on. Like I say, no experience of NVR's or whetehr they can see more than 1 network at the same time. You might need a ultility such as the one Dahua have for a pc to enable you to see anc change the default network address if it can't be done from the NVR and you can't access the cameras own interface directly from a pc.

So many variables it becomes difficult at best to walk you through becasue we dont know what your settings are, network issue is #1 as @MTL4 metnioned and @CCTVCam

What is the IP address of your NVR???
Can you login to it with a web browser at that address?

1- Thats a 4431 C - Chinese Region cam. They tend to be crap and will frequently not play well with NA or Euro NVRs
2- Login to your NVR using the Web Interface, not that machine direct interface. It sucks. Your NVR IP address is what you use in the address bar like going to a website
3- Make sure H.265 is OFF and use H.264h (At min for now, turn OFF"H.265 Auto")

As for as the bigger Networking problem, no it wont work as is. When you plug a new Dahua camera into a Dahua PoE NVR it will and should assign it an address of 10.1.1.x like the one above it. Typically port #1 is 10.1.1.65 and Port #2 is 10.1.1.66 and so on

That camera has has someone adjust the IP/Networking settings, It wont default to what you show by itself
