How to install when there is no attic?

I did think about the foundation vents, i tried to remove one and they have cement around them so i would need to drill a hole through one. They are just plastic but would no longer be able to open and close if i did that?

Hiding the cables is the easy part! for me the hard part is mounting the camera. See the red circle in this pic? I pushed on that spot and there is no wood or anything right there and it is already sagging. :wow:

If i could mount it there then just run the cable down behind that vertical plastic trim.
A piece of sheet metal painted the color of the soffit, slid in and pop-riveted to the trim, mount the cam to it. I'll try to find the link and post if before @wittaj does. :winktongue:

EDIT: missed it by THAT much! :lmao:

EDIT #2: YAY! Here's another version!

Mine have vertical slats that close automatically when temp drops. Some have a manual left-right slider. In most cases a 3/8" hole is big enough for CAT cable and at the same time small enough to stary in the frame area and not interfere with the operation of the vent.

If so, you can drill 1 or more as needed along the vent frame, horizontally and/or vertically, and not interfere with the operation of the slats or vanes.

I use the pvc boxes pipes to sleeve where i penetrate the wall to enter basement/main floor and caulk/duct seal it.

His slide left to right to close and open.

What exactly is this stuff called, i have home depo and lowes.

Lowes has has Steelworks 1-in x 8-ft Interior/Exterior Mill Finished Aluminum Solid

I don't know if it will hold up a junction box and a 180 camera it's probably around 3 pounds.

What is the tool to cut this stuff?
If it's 1/8" thick I'd use a hacksaw with a 32 tooth blade, although a 24 would probably be OK.

It is pretty soft. You could cut with a handsaw if you wanted if you have a blade that goes thru metal.

I have a small portable jigsaw table that I use to cut it.

I live in a manufactured home and ran all my CAT 6 cabling under the house in the crawl space and came up through the floor in a wall in one single location to my POE switch. My cameras are all soffit mounted. On the outside of the house I went through the foundation using liquid tight flexible conduit that switched to rigid conduit. I did this at all camera locations. I hid it behind my gutter down spouts. In the photos it shows my original old nasty cheap Lorex cams which have all been replaced my various Andy cams.

By the way, I'm also a journey level machinist and own a milling machine and lathe. I recently made myself a nice angled adaptor for my T-180 soffit mounted cam. I needed it lower on my 4/12 soffit on my shop. (See pic)
