Dear ALL,

I have Nvr4216-16p-4ks2 recorder, Is it possible to reset the NVR password only from the config tools application without using hard resetting from reset button ?

In If I succeed then do I have to reset an configure all the cameras connected to that NVR?

Your help will be appreciated.

@fritsolution
It seems that fritsolution has responded to that but its message is erased or deleted, can you repost if the answer is still valid

@Underhill
can you elaborate further more, is it possibile to reset NVR from configure tool or not ?

and Even If I reset do I have to add all the cameras to system?

Have you tried? For me to reset passwords it will let me on select devices from the tool. However on other devices it will prompt me to Scan a QR code and reset it over the DMSS app. If you have the app you can scan the code from reset password area of the app and it will auto send an email to the Reset Server. Once you get an Email back to the users Email address that is setup in the NVR you will be given a Code that is good for 24 hrs.. once you enter that code it will have you setup a new Password for your NVR. it will then prompt you to then change all the cameras passwords as well or not if you hit cancel then all the passwords for the cameras stay as they were and only the password for the NVR will have changed..

About setting up cameras again. NO you will not have to add them back unless you do a Hard Factory Reset.. You can also get that on some machines by going to the WebUi for the device, If offers Forgot password click it and again you can do QR code or if you setup recovery questions you can answer the questions and reset password that way. Again with the offer of doing your cameras as well..

If you don’t know the password for the nvr and you don’t have access to the email/if one was even used when initialized, then you’d need an engineer to tell you what 2 points to short on main board because unlike cameras, there is no reset button.
