Hi all,

Just in the process of getting my BI rig setup.

I have bought a Dell Optiplex 9020 running Win10 Pro with i7-4790 (4th Gen Haswell) 3.60Mhz and 16Gb RAM with a Crucial MX300 525GB SSD and a WD Purple 4TB

The one thing i can't figure out is how to turn quick sync on, or make sure its active.

The Intel website here Intel® Core™ i7-4790 Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.00 GHz) Product Specifications says that the chip is QuickSync - Yes

I updated the BIOS to the latest Dell A18 just released.

Thanks

if your onboard video is enabled then so is quicksync, just check box for hardware acceleration for the cameras in BI and reboot

Yup, it should "just work" if you are using onboard video, once you turn on the relevant feature in Blue Iris. It is in Blue Iris options > Cameras tab, by the way, and you want the mode that does NOT include "VPP" or "VideoPostProc" as that one fails hard after about 4 cameras.
