Hurricane Ian

I'm guessing since ipcamtalk is cloud-based, the main data is primarily located in Mar-O-Lago's bunker with backup images on 2 other continents (i.e. Europe and Asia). Just speculating...
...And then sent off to Moscow in a Gift Package along with the other Classified Material...

And sent to Russia by a transgender Marxocrat!

Prayers and good thoughts for those in the Charleston / Myrtle beach SC area today.

Obviously, as a Clemson alum, I have a lot of friends in SC and they are on my mind today. I recall, being in Charleston two days after Hugo (1989) and as I was driving into town at night seeing all the roofers working with flashlights and very little light. The damage was surreal even 75 miles inland from Charleston.

I think we all realize that storms this severe, and even more severe, have happened through the past. The big difference is that now there is development in the most vulnerable areas and that development gets destroyed by storms like this. Living in New Jersey, and also being fairly close to a creek that floods regularly, I get tired of hearing "we will rebuild" in the flood prone areas and areas where heavy coastal damage will inevitably occur yet again. At the same time I feel bad for everyone that loses everything in events like this, but they should have understood the risks before making the decision to live there.

Inland is a whole other problem. That's a real catch 22 situation. It can happen just about anywhere be it a hurricane, tornado, flood or snowstorm. In short, you can't out bet Mother Nature. She always holds the trump cards.

Www.Dukeenergyupdates.com/ian will get you to Florida's outage map if you're in Florida and on Dukes system. From there, you can get to the Carolinas outages. Duke energy has the unenviable position of getting hit twice by the same hurricane. Unfortunately dozens of the Carolinas boys are probably in Florida supporting us while there families are getting pummeled. I'm seeing more outages in the Carolinas right now than Florida. Of course that is Dukes system and not state wide.

I saw Yazoo Valley electric coops trucks heading south today. I saw Southern Electric trucks on Wednesday. I saw Signature trucks (tree trimmers?). Saw three trailers ( bunkhouses?) Forgot their name already. You might see hundreds of bucket trucks camped out in a Walmart parking lot after a disaster. Linemen make it happen!
