Hi

I just received the camera, but no cd or manual with it.
I don't even knwo the IP default address.
I tried 192.168.1.109
I tried a crossover cable or a direct cable

The cam is lighted up but I can't reach it.
Nor with a bowser, nor with a ping

DO you have any idea?

Thanks
Nathalie - newbie

Also, how is it connected? If through a router to a computer, make sure the router is assigning 192.168.1.x addresses instead of 192.168.0.x addresses. If your computer is, say, 192.168.0.15 you won't be able to address anything on 1.x.

Go to the Dahua web site and download the config tool.

My network is on 192.168.1 (192.168.1.5)
The link is direct between PC (Windows10) and camera
Config tools reaches nothing
I checked my IP with ipconfig (and submask is 255.255.255.0)
My Wifi is turned off

Tomorrow... il wil try on a Windows 7... who knows

Best not to try it this way.
If your PC is on DHCP, it will revert to a 'self-administered IP address' when no DHCP server is found, that will be quite different from the fixed default of the camera.
Follow @00Buck suggestion - that's what the tool is for. Use it with all on your normal network.

I just got mine yesterday, same camera. I got mine from Amazon with English firmware. I put it on my bench with a power injector, no need for the crossover with these cams. My default IP on the camera was 192.168.1.109, In my case I used my windows 8 laptop, I did not use the ipconfig tool. I just tried my smart pss and searched for the camera. Check your IP address on your pc, It needs to be static or you will not see anything as Alastair said. What are you using to power the camera? A direct cable between the computer and camera will not work. A little more info would be helpful.

Awesome, at least now you know the camera was tested on somebody's private network before you got it. Let us know how you like it, So far I really like mine especially the the IR capability. Post some day and night pics if you can.

Looks like you got a "pre-tested" model. Oh well, at least you figured it out and got it running. I've received cams that've had different settings than factory default before. If there were scratches on the mounting holes then you got a used camera that they didn't even bother to reset.
