I got a free IP5M-T1179EW-28MM from Amcrest - Same Menu's as Dahua?

How does someone get involved in one of these tester promo programs?

For me, I saw their post on facebook and followed the instructions in the post. The post was removed shortly after I responded to it.

Here is the account it was posted from. May be worth messaging them and asking if their are any more testers being sought out.

Thanks but I left facebook a long time ago. It was mostly people ranting/complaining about anything and everything. That and "viral challenges" or politics.

Looks like a legit deal for anybody new to the field or just cheap and reluctant to even install one in the first place. @Philip Gonzales post the video here, curious to know the format. Also camera is $70 on Amazon Amazon.com : Amcrest 5MP UltraHD Outdoor Security IP Turret PoE Camera with Mic/Audio, 5-Megapixel, 98ft NightVision, 2.8mm Lens, IP67 Weatherproof, MicroSD Recording (256GB), White (IP5M-T1179EW-28MM) : Camera & Photo

Advertised as Starlight but not really Starlight as far as ipcamtalk definition is concerned :p

Serious question
So what define "Starlight" on ipcamtalk....?

Dahua 5231 have
0.006Lux/F1.4 ( Color,1/3s,30IRE)
0.05Lux/F1.4 ( Color,1/30s,30IRE)
0Lux/F1.4 (IR on)

The Amcrest IP5M-1179 / DH-IPC-HDW2531T-AS-S2
0.008 Lux @ F1.6 (I assume its colors 1/3s)

it is only slightly higher than the 5231?

The 1179 low light performance is running circles compared to my Amcrest 2496/2499 or (laugh) the IP3M-943 I'm phasing out.
