Hi, Is there any settings that I should adjust from the default ones? I understand this is going to vary between users.

Firmware version V4.21.005 build 191218
Encoding version V5.0 build 190701
Web Version V4.0.51 build 190529
Plug in Version V3.0.7.10
 
Probably dozens, but without knowing way more than I want to about your use case and cameras and scenes, I couldnt begin to tell you what.

Generally speaking, I advise setting the recording schedule and main network settings on an NVR and do 99% of everything else on the individual cameras themselves. No two scenes are identical and all will require scene specific as well as day/night setting differences.

Gotcha, These are just cameras that I have set up on my shop at my home. I have them recording 24 HRS a day, It appears they have a lots of options to set zones and different objects. It does detect motion and keeps track of that but I don't have it send me alerts as its not needed for these. I really have not set up a zone it just records what it can see. I have a different system on my house and barns. I was just curious I guess, I don't know enough to want to mess it and cause issues.
 
If you're happy with the image and the coverage and dont care about alerts or anything, it shouldnt be too much. Set the recording schedule, and let the cameras do what they do.

I'm not familiar with that specific NVR but compatibility with the cameras will be your first challenge, or not.
 
I have had it up and running for about 4 years, I had to replace the hard drive and that got me thinking about settings.
