Wondering how I can maximize my configuration to improve it. Attached are all the screenshots of my setup. Any input on improvements would be much appreciated.

You don't tell us what is triggering the false alerts. Cats, dogs, tree shadow in the wind...............

Also, if you are trying to trigger on people only try Sentry. Works quite well.

Just wind, when the suns brightness changes, and car lights

I've read a lot about Sentry over the past weeks and am interested but I want the dog/cats to keep alerting me. Also I don't believe they can detect vehicles yet which is also why I'm still sticking with the BI for motion alerts for now.

Your object travels is really small, 80 pixels isn't much. And you are using high def motion which may be making it worse. I don't use hi def, and have object travels 200.

Also that's not how I'd use zones, they are all too narrow. I'd do your something like the closest half of your driveway and closest half of lawn as A. The outer half of driveway and lawn to sidewalk as B. Everything else as C. Several pixel gap between the zones. Zone G covering everything. Then do zone crossing of anything from C entering B and A (C>BA ??) not sure.

Personally I just do my entire driveway and lawn as A, everything else including sidewalk, boulevard and road as B (with a slight gap between A & B), G covering everything, then do zone crossing A-B

Dude you rock! Exactly what I wanted to hear. I kinda assumed I didn't have it set up the best way haha. Thanks again!

What do you use for the reset detector %?

Min contrast of 20 is also probably a bit low. I'd turn on show objects and highlight as well while testing. You can also test run old video through to test your changed settings if you are using Direct to Disk.

Also use the rectangle tool in the zone drawing area when deciding how many pixels an object must travel to cause a trigger.....that way you can see exactly how many pixels you want to set. Draw a straight line with the rectangle tool and a pixel counter tool tip appears. When you get an idea of what you want to set for pixels, just cancel out of the zone drawing area so any changes you made are not saved.
