That lesson is don't forget to peel off the protective film on the front when you are done. Let that bake in the sun for a year and a half and you will be out there with a plastic tool trying to scrape it off in 1mm size bits. This is especially not fun standing on a ladder hanging over the parapet wall of a commercial building.

No way. I would have thought the heat would have just curled it off.

I am assuming it was the film that covers the IR and not the lens as it probably would have looked out of focus?

On one camera it kind of puckered out on one side and that one was a little easier to get off. On the other, it was like a 20 min chore including hauling a ladder up to the roof. That one was completely flat and just baked on hard.
