Best option is Record continuously to an SD card. Then you can review all footage.

To get any buffered, pre-trigger, video whether its 3 seconds or ten minutes, the camera needs to be constantly recording. It can't go back in time to get what happened previously any other way.
I record 24/7/365 with Blue Iris. Works 100% with no drama or glitches, been recording continuously now for well over one year.
