With traffic around here, I am burning up a lot of hard rive space. The NVR is a nvr8-7400. It has a 2 TB drive in it now. In the literature it shows upgradeable to 6tb. Is that a software max or drive size at the time of production? No way to go larger?

What would be best, replace the 2TB with a 6TB? Add an External 4TB? I have not opened the case to see if there is room for a second drive. Small case so doubt it.

Also what is a good (and compatible) brand/model of hard drive to buy?

Hmm, Back of box uses an ESATA connector. WD Purple ESATA drives max at 4tb from what I found. And they sure are expensive.

Since no replies yet... I have found I can upgrade the unit to 6TB. A 3TB internal and a 3TB external. A 3TB SATA drive can be put in a Esata case and used externally. Should get me by for now. BTW need to format the drive after hooking it up for the unit to use it.
