I don't think it has any intelligent recognition built into the camera itself; just pixels and also I think there is some line detection, though I don't use it and I've heard it may have actually been better (line detection) in previous firmware revisions. Whoever manages hikvision's firmware is a mystical figure who makes strange decisions.@LittleBrother... does 5.2.0 give you decent motion detection where I can differentiate between people and not just pixel change? I'm planning on using Sighthound which does this but until I get it I might like to use the built-in features first. Thanks!
I'm on 5.3.0 on all my Hikvision cameras. I like the ability to tweak settings based on day or night. There were day/night settings before, but I've recently noticed more options than previously. Can't for certain say that it all came with 5.3.0 though.
Line detection and Intrusion detection hasn't changed from what I can tell. It just helps to be able to tweak the day/night settings more. However, as I said above....it may not be new with 5.3.0 at all...it's possible that it's just taken me this long to notice.
If your camera has 5.3.0 on it and came with 5.3.0 then you have no choice really, it's 5.3.0 or my downgrade to 5.2.5.
If your camera originally came with a firmware of 5.2.3 or less than you can try 5.1.6 which still has the best functionality of all the releases.
I agree... 5.1.6 was the best one!5.1.6 if you have an original fw below 5.2.3
