I'm curious if anyone thinks this may be possible. I will play around in the next few days but maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

Was wondering if I could detect a fire in a BBQ rotisserie that has a glass viewing window.

I would only activate the profile when no one will walk between the camera and the BBQ. Perhaps detection on brightness rather than colour in certain zone.. Or is the contrast? And have a few seconds of motion needed ("wait" or whatever it was called). This way the rotating meat won't trigger the motion detection, but a more constant increase in brightness sue to flickering flames might trigger it?

I'm new to BI and away from my pc but having crazy ideas now I see how well BI works.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll go exploring when I cook the next rotisserie.

I'm thinking lowering contrast, but keeping the size bigger as fire should light up a large area, and doesn't pick up shade changes of the meat when it rotates.

Not sure if it'll work but would be handy as an alarm will trigger quickly when I'm having a beer and not watching it
