Image sensor question;

Whats the difference between a 2.0 megapixel progressive scan CMOS and a 1/2.8'' progressive scan CMOS?

Both lenses are for 2Mp cameras.

Thank you.

They’re different measurement terms.

The first means that it’s a sensor divided into 2 million receptors to give you a 2mp image - basically telling you nothing useful.

The 2nd means the size of the sensor - generally bigger the better for night vision but you'll find most are around 1/3", it’s not the only deciding factor.

Ok these are the two cameras in question. I take it the 2.0 megapixel progressive scan CMOS is a 1/3" sensor using the 2.0 megapixel progressive scan CMOS term to trick one into believing it is a 1/2.8"

Don't know about 'tricking', more like different teams working on each line of products and they guys that put the spec sheet together just used different information. I wouldn't be suprised if all the Turbo stuff is based on 1/3" sensors same as everything else.
