Installing Blue iris

I am planning on using blue iris for a surveillance setup for a restaurant. I was wondering what would be better, installing blue iris on a main HD and then have it all the video clips record onto a WD purple, or to put the application itself onto a WD purple? Thanks

put blue iris and the database file on the fastest drive, preferably an SSD...put the video on your purple.
