Hi Folks, anyone had an issues with installing a cctv recorder in the loft, regarding overheating, dust issues ect. Any advise greatly appreciated, Thanks

I've got my BlueIris PC in the loft as well as the POE switch, been up there for some 3 years now. No problems to date, not saying that there won't be.

The only issue I had was with the POE switch, in summer the fans were way too loud so I could hear the feint hum in the quiet of the night so I had to mod them by adding a resistor in line to slightly reduce their speed and take away that high pitched buzz when they are running at full speed.

There have been occasions where I have had to pop into the loft to either manually restart the PC, last last week in fact as it appeared to lock itself out from network access. Other times I've played around with it and locked myself out from remote access but generally, for me, I've not had any real cause for concern.

Luckily here in the UK being too hot is never a real issue, having said that, last 2 years we have had a few weeks of really hot weather, my loft 2 weeks ago must have been in the high forties (centigrade)
