Intermittent Timeline Recording

For many months I've been I've been running Blue Iris version 5.6.8.1 and UI3 version 227 with no issues. Every camera records full time. I haven't paid much attention to it lately due to various circumstances, and now recently it's recording intermittently. Looking at the timeline, it records for roughly 3 minutes then stops for roughly 2 minutes. It's not precisely the same intervals every time but it's consistently happening. No settings were changed. Any ideas what could cause this or where I should start looking?

Decreasing the disk allocation to new recordings and rebooting solved the problem. Why it worked for years with no issues on the old settings is a mystery.
