IP Camera with webserver - recommendations wanted

@superman1233 I take it that you haven't had any luck with this problem since you first posted.

Despite all of the very detailed replies I never really got to the point where I could write a shopping list of bits with confidence that they would do what I actually wanted.

I don't get why there isn't a camera with an SD card and a little processor so it can be directly connected to. The whole how do you secure it and never connect it to the internet, that's a secondary issue. The hardware in a single package is what I am looking for.

It's been over 6 years since your original post and I'm puzzled why an Amcrest IPM-721 then (or now, it's upgraded cousin intro'd over 4 years ago, the $50, Dahua-OEM'd, Amcrest IP2M-841) doesn't fit your needs.

It does NOT require an app, it does NOT require the Internet, it has a built-in webserver, it can record DIRECTLY to a microSD card and it can stream DIRECTLY via RTSP to VLC, Blue Iris and more., doing so wired or wireless.
