IP2M-841B-V3: tilt is stiff and jerky

With 2 out of my 3 new IP2M-841B-V3 the tilt function goes stiff and jerky. The angle it does is between 45 and 60 degrees only.
It seems to be a mechanical problem.
Is there something that I can do?

Returning them from Germany to the US is probably not an option.
I'm an engineer experienced with electronics and precision mechanics.
So I'm thinking about surgery, if there is a chance to fix the problem.

If no joy from the above ^^^, consider this:

I've taken apart and re-assembled the V1 and V2 versions with I/O terminals so the V3 could be only slightly easier but I went slowly and in steps taking smartphone images at every step because it had lots of connectors and a I wanted to insure I could re-assemble in the right order....it was tedious for me, I'm 72 now and I was a spry 70 when I did it. :lol:

Before you go that route, with power off have you tried rapping its flat bottom not too hard on another flat, hard surface?

Not until now ... but no improvement. I can hear the the motor tormenting with resistance. Maybe a drop of silicone oil will help ...?

I've done surgery on Hootoo cameras before and proceeded exactly as you sugested (taking pictures). :) The IR-Leds used to die on those cams and I had to replace them.

Perhaps a tiny drop ....OR....
There's burr on the gear(s) or misalignment, etc.

Thanks. Surgery done. Patient recovered from anesthesia. :)

Dismantling the cam was a medium challenge.
It turned out the the tilt motor was centered poorly, when the cam was assembled.
Gladly the motor mounting screws could be accessed through holes on the opposite side and centering could be fixed.
After correcting this, tilt runs now smoothly as butter over the full angle range.
What was strange that - beside the assembly error - I found broken plastic noses and latches ... on a brand new camera! :oops:

thank you, I contacted the support and the Product Support Specialist responded yesterday and told me to do a hard reset on the camera.
I think you agree that a hard reset is most likely not appropriate to fix obvious mechanical problems.

Meanwhile I have repaired the cam and fixed the problem caused by sloppy factory assembly (see previous posting above).
I will have to do the same procedure on another one of my three new cams, received from amcrestdirect 10 days ago.

What about some compensation for fixing your products by sending me 3 EU 230V/5V power supplies for the cams?
For me (in Germany) it is inexplicable, why amcrest sends cams to German customers in Germany with a US-type power supply.
And - by the way - it is also mysterious, that all three cams show a production date of 2019-12 and are thus almost two years old.
