It looks like on July 27, 2022, Amcrest finally released new firmware for its (Dahua's) IP4M-1051. Has anyone tried it yet? I am only using IP4M-1051s with BlueIris and they seem to be working alright as is so I thought I would ask before installing.

What's particularly annoying about Amcrest is they never have comments in the F/W's "Change Log"....such as the issue the update addresses, feature(s) added, etc.

So unless I heard directly from Amcrest via e-mail and/or you are having a problem with your cams or must have an added feature the updated F/W provides, I personally would NOT update the firmware. The risk of bricking a functioning camera with a F/W update may outweigh the promised benefit, IMO.

Yeah, a change log would certainly be helpful to have a clue as to what the updated firmware does.

I remember how they removed the SNMP protocol in the one of firmware update...
It was great for home automation.
