I purchased a IPC-B54IR-Z4E S3 camera a few months back, completely based off the glowing reviews on the site here which presented it as the standard cam to use. I've ran a Blue Iris setup for years, initally with Hikvision cams which were eventually replaced by Reolink, along with PC upgrades. Unfortunately, I didn't use the camera immediately upon purchase, and have just this weekend opened the box to attempt to set it up. Same POE switch and cables as my working cameras, but I'm getting nothing. There's no device showing in client list of my router, and there's nothing at 192.168.0.108. As near as I can tell it's not powering on at all. Are these cameras not plug-n-play with POE? I don't see any type of power switch or anything of that nature.

Yes, assuming the former POE camera and cables were 802.3af/at-compliant, it should power up however the default IP is 192.168.1.108.

Try using ConfigTool to find it in the download section of EmpireTech's website. I haven't worked specifically with this camera, but after using two other EmpireTech models, it's probably what you need. After the ConfigTool finds the camera, you have the ability to reassign the IP address to whatever you want. It's not the most intuitive software, but I was able to find my 11 other cameras using this tool. I would not call these cameras "plug and play".

it's waiting for you at 192.168.1.108
if your Lan is on the 192.168.0.108 it wont see it.
unless you plug an uninitialiazed Dahua type cam into an NVR then the NVR device search finds it.

they are a bit more plug and play with an NVR.
they are plug and play on a Dot.1 address not a Dot.0 address.
use the 192.168.1.108 address or temporarily chnage your lan to a dot 1 address.
I have done this several different ways.
It's not always black and white.
lots of times i just go into the NVR and skip blue iris and the web page login because I'm not on the right LAN subnet of dot 1.
but the Nvr will find it on the wrong net and let you initialize .
I've done it with config tool as well.
When i had a dot 1 address life was easier.

Thanks guys. That was exactly the issue. I temporarily moved the POE switch over to my modem (.1 sub net) and was able to log into the camera and change it's address over to the desired subnet. Everything looks great now.
