My first two cameras are the 2MP IPC-HDW2231T-ZS-S2 and I like them a lot. I want to try something higher resolution so I was thinking about the 8MP IPC-HDW2831T-ZS-S2 but I haven't seen a review in here yet. The pro version that seems to come the closest is the IPC-HDW5831R-ZE.

I am just learning about these cams but from reading all the posts in here I believe the important specs are these:
2831 - 1/2.7, 0.008 Lux, 8192 Kbps
5831 - 1/2.5, 0.05 Lux, 10240 Kbps

So from what I see, the 2831 would be better in low light, but the larger sensor and higher bit rate of the 5831 would have a better picture in daytime or in bright light.

Am I reading these specs correctly and making the right assumptions or is there more to it that that?

I see the 2831 can support up to 256GB SD Card. At present I run 4 cameras, via Blueiris to a PC that runs 24/7. Is it possible to tell the camera to save directly to the SD card and then overwrite once full? Also can you access the footage easily on the SD card, hence no real need for the 24/7 computer but if there was something I needed I could pull the file from the SD card?

Thanks for any help, just trying to cut down on the electricity bill and running my PC all the time.
