That does seem a good bit better, but a little off on a couple areas. It almost seems like there is still a little haze left on the lens that you cleared most off when wiping it down. I'd say besides that though, the IR performance isn't out of the ordinary for a 1/3" lens, i'm assuming that longse is a 1/2" or bigger? Because that gathers a ton of light that I just don't think any of these smaller sensors can do.

It's almost what I expected too, but I would say Hikvision 4MP WDR dome with 1/3 sensor was better then this Dahua. Longse is 1/1.8

Just took a look at those (the 3345) and they do look pretty good. I'll be setting this up for outside so i'll post a pic or two to test the focus pull. If not, I may have to live with "good enough" since I'm using my other Dahua cams individually with a NAS and gDMSS.

No dice, still has this softness anything beyond 10 feet. Anyway it's packed and ready to be sent back. This will be the first camera that I received with soft focus and first one that I will be returning back to China. Shipping it back is $10. Also, seller called me unprofessional because I should've ordered 6mm lens.

This was the fastest refund I've ever seen on Aliexpress beats Amazon by far! I haven't even shipped the item back and already see full refund pending in my CC.

Just got my camera in tonight, and don't seem to be having the focus issue klasipca had with his. A little grain on the default settings but nothing that can't be fixed with some adjusting, and otherwise had good clarify to me. Pretty happy with it overall!

Let me know what you guys think. I kept them lossless png at 1440p at all standard settings besides updating the video codec/bitrate so they're kinda gigantic.

Edit: The spec in the color shot is a hair or some dust, I have a fluffball cat. Oh, and the UI was English; 2.420.0000.15.R, build : 2016-01-07

looks great, i suspected had @klasipca been bothered to fix the focus him self he'd of been much happier.. if you keep ordering fixed lens cameras sooner or later your going to get one that has to be manually focused, yeah tearing apart a camera sucks but I void warranties for both pleasure and sport so meh. I can understand why a vendor would call him unprofessional if having to adjust the focus manually was completely unreasonable.

I had hoped his refund would not have been so damn easy lol, then perhaps he'd of been motivated to break out some screwdrivers.. not trying to rag on you @klasipca, just stating that many of us would of handled that a bit differently than you did.. you left the impression that this camera was pretty crappy when simply YOUR individual camera just needed a bit of tinkering.

The seller didn't say anything about opening the cam and adjusting the lens focus or even trying to offer any solution. Just called me unprofessional and that I should have ordered 6mm. I didn't even get to explain the issue in detail. Actually I did consider adjusting the focus but Easy return option was too appealing not to try.

I understand why, I never expected you to have such an easy time sending it back.. but thats actually better than the kind of service ive come to expect from china.. I know oh so well, Ive had vendors on alibaba do entire runs of custom designed equipment and fuck its a hastle, but worth it for the cost.. for me to make a couple hundred custom wiring harnesses in house would of taken me thousands of dollars in man-hours, I sent one to them with some cash and eventually they sent me back a giant box full of wiring harnesses for a couple hundred... I have to assume an army of kids slaved over them, but thats free trade for you.

the US vendors I buy Dahua from such as Wrightwood would have hand held me through fixing the focus once I had explained the issue... I even had one arrive with a cracked glass around the IR and they cut me a great deal on an upgrade for the hassle.. not there fault some shipper abused the damn thing and I was glad with the upgrade they talked me into.

I think you got pretty fortunate, despite the smartass remark he made..

For the record I really wanted to keep the cam and I might order it again depending how it goes with incoming Longse, it would've made very good indoor cam with great microphone quality.

I wouldn't worry about it, I know I would have probably done the same after waiting a month and not getting what you expect along with that terse reply. I'm glad that it wasn't endemic to all the cams and was just isolated, and wanted to share it with the rest to show what it should look like.

As an unexpected bonus, my wife says this is the cutest camera I bought so far. Heh.

Hi guys. Great info on the HDW4431C-A. Would be great if you could provide some more day pictures.
I was planning to buy the HDW4436C-A. But i don't know the difference. Other than the 36 have H.265 codec. So i will be following your updates :)

That's weird, this one just came out like a month or two ago. the 4431's big difference from 4421 is also that it supports h.265, so i'm unsure what the 6 signifies. I just google translated one of the few pages I could find on it (on taobao) and it appears to say that it doesn't support POE while the 1 does, maybe that's what it is? Where'd you find any info on these?

Edit: found a 4426c on aliexpress that also seems to only accept 12v, I believe that's what that signifies. It should otherwise be identical to these cams.

Just a quick question since this was also about the microphone. Will the built microphone run over the Lan port or a separate cable?

yes but digitally, there is not a specific pair of wires for the audio.. technically, there are no wires at all for the audio.

Great. I will be using my cams with POE so i just have 1 cable per camera. I just wanted to know if i had to have a second cable for audio. :)

only need a 2nd cable if you want a 2nd camera, everything should go out the ethernet cable.. thats the beautify behind IP + PoE, one wire to rule them all.

when you pull cable pull a string along with it, so if you ever decide you want another network cable you can just tie it to that string and pull (with a new string attached to the new network cable)
