IPC-HDW5231R-Z short distance license plate

Is anyone using the IPC-HDW5231R-Z for short distance LPR? If so, how is the quality? I simply wanted the ability to review license plate vids after the fact and was not sure quality was. My distance from cam to car would be 20-25ft. I do have an illuminator in the area.

At 25 feet you have 140 ppf if zoomed in fully, which is comparable to the ppf I have with my Z5 bullet that I've tested successfully for LPR at ~70 feet. It worked nicely using only the inbuilt IR for me, but the Z5 has stronger, and presumably more focused IR than the turret. On the other hand, with your shorter distance, less IR is obviously required.

makes sense, thank you. cb8 were/are you using LPR software or simply playing back video when you tested for LPR ability?
