Hi all,
I bought IPC-HFW1831C-PIR from @EMPIRETECANDY via aliexpress and installed it on my property.
Hardware itself is awesome, perfect image quality, PoE, etc.
But I want to save videos on SD card, so I configured camera via web app to store recordings on SD card (Samsung Evo Plus 128GB).
Motion detection is activated in settings, camera is linked to my IMOU account so I can get notifications on my phone.

Problem is:
- when event is triggered I see following sequence in logs: Event Begin, Disk Error, Event End

error_dahua.png

- there is no notification sent via IMOU app (I suspect disk error is the reason)
- video is not stored on SD card, empty .dav files are created with size 0 bytes
- snapshots seems to be not affected, still images are saved correctly on SD card

Firmware (latest shared by Andy, from March '19):
Device Type: IPC-HFW1831C-PIR
System Version: V2.800.0000005.0.R, Build Date: 2019-03-25
WEB Version: V3.2.1.709882
ONVIF Version: 16.12(V2.4.3.651299)
Security Baseline Version: V1.4

Tried two brand new different SD cards, same on both:
- Samsung Evo Plus 32GB
- Samsung Evo Plus 128GB

For me seems that firmware has an problem with storing videos, maybe I misconfigured something?
What could be the reason? Any ideas?

Where did you buy the cards. The number one reason for issues like this is fake cards.

Bought from two different shops, both came from official Samsung distribution network. Original wrapping, etc., I wouldn't buy card for camera from untrusted source.
I tested both on PC and smartphone, works fine in terms of I/O speeds and capacity. 128GB variant is rated for 4K videos, has 100mb/s write speed, so should be more than enough for H265 (smart codec is off).

Are you able to format the card from the Duhua webpage?
I did it already, both cards were formatted via dahua webpage when trying to solve the issue.
It didn't fixed those errors.

Weird thing is that snapshots are saved correctly on SD card, video recordings not.

I wonder if it's missing a needed folder which it for some reason hasn't created?

EDIT: I've just read on another thread where after they left the card in it just started recording, also check things like schedule etc to see if those settings might somehow be getting in the way and overriding.

Folders seems to be created, as .dav files appears on sd card, so video recording is triggered properly, although with size 0 bytes.

IMOU app shows on timeline that recording is available but when trying to play video, it loads to 99% and shows "Internet connection problem".
Playback trough Web UI shows .dav recordings but downloads files with 0 bytes and playback is not working at all.

Any ideas what to check / how to debug such issue?
How to find exact error behind this cryptic "Disk error"?

@EMPIRETECANDY Do you know if there is a newer FW for IPC-HFW1831C-PIR?
