Hello there,

Hoping someone can help me. Recently purchased a Dahua IPC-HFW2100S-V2, running software version 2.210.0000.3.R, build : 2014-04-16.

The issue I am seeing is, the 1.3MPixel and 264H option are missing from the configuration menu.

Does anyone have a current or ealier firmware that i might try to see if the 1.3Mp option returns?

Cheers!

Hi Mkkroskin,

Thanks for that! Must be some difference, I get an error "File is invalid, failed to upgrade! Some functions have been closed, reboot device now?". The Serial number is also blank/not present in the Information->Version page. I wonder if this isn't fake..

Did you try with both versions? It shouldn't allow you to upgrade it with a wrong file.

I can upload few earlier versions aswell, if this one is not supported on your device.

https://mega.co.nz/#!hcZUVJAY!KigwP59sbA_9U0e4WNxnMmPFpgaAdXyY0x-ofiZI0O0 (General_IPC-HX3(2)XXX_Eng_P_V2.212.0001.0.R.20131224.bin, this one is dated before your current firmware so it might be older)

Sure did, both of those DH_IPC-HX3(2)XXX_Eng_NP_8M_V2.212.0000.6.R.20140419.bin & General_IPC-HX3(2)XXX_Eng_P_V2.212.0001.0.R.20131224.bin failed...

Tried all of that, no success same error. Appreciate your efforts thought!

Might try contacting who you purchased it from. Having dealt with a lot of these cameras from purchasing on Ebay et cetera, a lot of modified by sellers. Sometimes hacked to get an English firmware on it, other times whole cameras with different model casings. Even Dahua, when I contacted them said you need to be careful.

So what I would suggest if you haven't tried already is flashing with different region firmwares, most likely with the Chinese version of the firmware. If you think your model is a North America, but you got it from Ebay somewhere you're not familiar with, odds are it is probably a different region device and needs that regions firmware. I have that on a few of my cameras and kept having the same issue of trying to update the firmware and getting those errors till I tried flashing one with the Chinese firmware and it worked. Then I did it to all of them and then I was able to update them all and the interface is still in English. That was my biggest fear when I first did one was that I was going to brick the camera, but it worked. That was before I started to getting them from HD Security Store and Wrightwood Surveillance, places that have excellent recommendations. HD Security Store has excellent support or so I have had good luck with them.

Might give it a go.

Thanks overcon, I have contacted HD Security Store (knowing that I am not a paying customer) see if they can assist. Do you happen to have a copy of the Chinese firmware? All I can find is EN, my google-foo maybe lacking.

Edited to say, Have tried contacting the AliExpress seller who are apparently an "Authorised Dahua Seller" but they are unable or unwilling to assist.

Hi guys,
were you able to find a more recent Firmware for this camera? I'm running this firmware V2.212.0000.6.R.20140419 but I'm not sure it is the latest one.
Please advice,
Azzo

Nope, none of the firmwares I have found work.
I did manage to get more info, these are typically chinese only and much lower quality. the PoE PSU is in the cable itself and not onboard inside the camera. I would avoid this camera altogether, and go with a HikVision or go through a decent supplier.
Every firmware i have tried results in the following;

/var/tmp/pd # cd /var/

which makes me think its a fake/hacked firmware or it really is re-branded cheap crappy camera.

Id be interested to see what your model says..
Use the following commands;
Use putty or telnet, connect to the ip of your camera. use the username/password combo's below (mine worked with the 7ujMko0MYPASSWORDGOESHERE)
In older firmware the telnet account is root / vizxv

In newer firmware the telnet account is admin / 7ujMko0+"web UI password" ---> 7ujmko0admin
once your in type;
cd /var/tmp/pd
cat ProductDefinition

A small update incase anyone comes looking. I found a firmware that loads for the "2100S-V2", I found a firmware for the IPC-Hx1100 and it loaded fine. Mine appears to be a re-badged/fake IPC-HFW1100 in a 2100S-V2 case. The HFW1100 is a 1MP Camera, which explains my lack of 1.3 option.
